BOM change effectivity date

Post by MMPP » Wed Jun 04, 2003 2:11 pm

Is it possible to make changes to BOMs with an effective date in the future? For example, you know that in 3 months a certain component will change.

I thought the "valid from" date in CS02 would allow this, but no matter what date I enter there, all changes are effective immediately. So it is probably only good to display the BOM at a certain date.

I just tried your test. I can add a component on a future date by typing in a future "valid from" date. However, using the same process and I delete the same component, it disappears completely.

We use ECO control here and it works fine.

Are you sure? Did you check that the component was actually changed only in the future?

In my case, even though I specified a future valid from date (say 3 months from now) running MRP changed planned orders to the new component starting next week :?

Not familiar (yet) with ECO... not that sophisticated here

SEEKEY4532

just use ECM

it's easy to solve this use ECM.
Just need create an Engineering Change Number then assign a future valid date to it.
when you create or modify the BOM; enter this EC Number.
you will see the result of your want.
