Supersession in Flexible Planning

Postby hirawan » Wed Mar 25, 2015 5:56 pm

Hi,
My client is in automotive industry and uses supersession heavily.
I am just wondering whether Flexible Planning can recognise the supersession chain and automatically adds the sales history from the entire chain to the latest product.

Example:
Supersession chain : A --> B --> C
They might have some remaining stock for A & B, they sale A & B first until the stock is zero, they also can sell C. We want capture all sales history from A&B into C, so we can plan C moving forwards.

Thank you

What I have done in the past is the following:
1) Update infostructure 'X' with the actual data from postings.
2) Use copy management with a bespoke copy routine to read the supercession data and change the material number in the target infostructure 'Y' during copy.
3) Use infostructure 'Y' for planning.
Good luck!
