Backflush Indicator for Serialized Material in Routing

Postby mcarvalh » Wed Aug 20, 2014 2:18 pm

Dear All,

I have a component that is serialized. When I try to set the backflush indicator "1"in the MRP 2 view of the material master I get the error message M3 896. This is correct. When I try to select the backflush indicator directly in the production order for this component I get the error message CO689. This is correct. Now if I go to the routing and I select the backflush indicator for this component I do not get any error message and the system allows me to save the change. This is wrong!!!

Is there a OSS note to fix this issue? Is this the standard behavior for the system. If it is, what is the reason to allow such a behavior?

Thanks in advance,

Hi

What the reason is? Different teams of ABAPers...

Just kidding. This behaviour is incorrect. Serialized materials cannot be backflushed. I couldn't find anything on OSS other than note 493582: "A serial number processing for automatic goods movements or for pickings is not supported in the standard until further notice."
