Process order consume forecast

Postby Dianne » Fri Jan 24, 2014 12:03 pm

Hello

I am working in an environment where the business wants to enter Ind Req at the finished good level and have process orders for that product consume the Ind Req. No assemblies involved.
Has anyone done this before? Is it possible?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Independent requirements are consumed by other requirements - either sales or dependent requirements. It makes no sense to consume an independent requirement by a supply element (process/production/purchase order).

I agree completely with Dave although instead of creating independent requirements you could create planned orders and consume them against production orders. However, this is not something I would recommend when the independent requirement functionality is designed around forecasting sales, not production.
