CM21 Legend

Postby mcarvalh » Tue Jan 14, 2014 10:25 am

Dear Friends,

I am using the transaction CM21. I checked the legend.

There is an entry in the legend that says "Operation Completely
Confirmed". This should be displayed in the graphic as a grey bar. This
is not happening. When I confirm completely an operation it disappears
from CM21. It is not diaplayed as a grey bar.

There is an entry in the legend that says "Operation Standard in Pool".
I created a work center with pooled capacity. I created a production
order that uses the pooled capacity. This entry is not displayed with
the proper legend (very light blue and pink). I see it as just a
standard operation (blue and red).

There is an entry in the legend that says "Operation Split Requirements".
This situation is displayed as a thinner line according to the legend.
I created a production order with splitting. It is displayed as a
regular operation. The bar is not thinner as stated in the legend.

In the legend I see options where the operation text is written on the
bar and options where the operation text is written besides the bar.
How do I use one or the other option?

Is this legend wrong or is my understanding of the meaning of each
situation wrong? If my understanding is not correct, can you clarify?

Thanks in advance,

MCarvalh

Dear Friends,

I was able to figure part of it.

For you to split operations and to display the split you must use a capacity leveling transaction that works with individual capacities like CM27. The transaction CM21 does not allow splits.

For you to see the pool of orders you should should use the transaction CM23. The orders you specify in the selection screen of the transaction CM23 are displayed using the colors defined for "Operation Standard in Pool".

When an operation is displatched the text appears written in the bar.

When an operation is not dispatched the text appears beside the bar.

The only point that remains open is the legend for operations completely confirmed.

It would seem to me that in most constellations, a completely confirmed operation would no longer have any capacity requirements and thus correctly not be shown in the overview. I'm not sure if there is a way to have a fully confirmed operation that still has requirements??? I cannot think of a way.

I agree...but then why is there a legend for completelly confirmed operations in CM21?

Also check the text below extracted from the OSS Note 43779. It clearly states that there is a way to display confirmed operations if someone desires to.

"If for the capacity plan sheet only incompletely confirmed capacity requirements are supposed to be displayed (status selection profile SAP009), the system should no longer display capacity requirements which are only partially confirmed but which nevertheless do not have any remaining capacity requirements. Only when confirmed operations are explicitly to be selected, then completely confirmed capacity requirements whose remaining requirements are 0 are supposed to be selected as well.."
