Component scrap required only for MRP not for backflush

Postby supersubra » Mon Apr 01, 2013 1:34 am

Hi PP Experts,

We are using backflush method in descrete production orders. For Some components we have entered 10 % component scrap in Material Master and for some components we have done it specific to BOM in BOM item level. But our requirement is this extra requirement is needed only for extra procurement to be on the safer side. It should not be consumed in production order confirmation while backflushing.

Can any body give necessary settings details.

Thanks in advance.

V.Subramanian.

Do you always want to add 10% on the whole production, even though you don't use it? Why? If you plan it that way one time, and end up not using, then MRP would consider the extra in netting (and so doesn't plan more)..May be what you need is a safety stock, rather than add 10% on top of every requirement....

But anyway to the exact question you asked, you can achieve that by letting MRP and shop floor control see different BOMs with different component scrap quantities. There are BOM selection possibilities by plant in MRP and by order type and plant in Production orders IMG.
