Consuming planned independent requirements through PS

Postby 802256 » Sat Mar 29, 2003 6:11 am

I am using planning strategy 60 planning with a planning material, and individual requirements. When using SD for incoming orders, the planned independent requirements for the planning material are consumed correctly. This is controlled through the customer requirements class.

However, we want to use PS networks for incoming orders. Requirements from PS network is generated as reservations with WBS account assignment. The issue is that the PS reservations are not consuming the forecast of the planning material in that case. I have maintained the default consumption indicator for requiremenst type VSEV to "3 Consume reservations, dep. req. and cust. req."

The only way I have managed to consume forecast from PS network is by using strategy 70 (req. type VSFB) and collective requirements.

The manual workaround we have defined so far for consuming the planning material is to manually create customer requirements in demand management that corresponds to the PS network reservations. This is however not a good long-term solution.

Anyone who has experienced this problem, and have better solutions ?

This post is old, but never had an answer.
I have quite the same problematic, and can't find any help on it on the web, neither on SAP OSS notes.

We use planning material functionnality. For the moment, planned requirements are generated through t-codes MD61/MD62 and materials use planning strategy 63. Requirements are consumed when purchase requests/orders are created on the final material.

We are currently working on the implementation of PS for the logistic and accounting flows of our projects and we would like to continue to use our planning material.

It means:
we plan through a t-code like MD61/MD62 the planned requirements on the planning material, let say we call it A;
in PS we create reservation or PR in an activity for the final material, for definitive requirements; let say we call this material B.
we would like planned requirements declared on A to be consumed by requirements made on B.
We can't achieve this using planning strategies 60 or 63 and t-code MD61 for planned requirements on A.

The only way we have found to consume planned independent requirements from MD61 through reservation in a project is using planning strategy 70, but we have not found how to use planning materials with planning strategy 70.

Do you know if it is possible and how to achieve it?

If not, can you explain the solution indiacte in the previous post: "The manual workaround we have defined so far for consuming the planning material is to manually create customer requirements in demand management that corresponds to the PS network reservations. This is however not a good long-term solution. " ?
