MRP Strategies/Sales orders not consuming Ind Req

Post by jsil » Mon Oct 21, 2002 8:50 am

I have set up the following MRP Strategie. I want the sales orders to
consume the independent requirements.

1) I have entered independent requirements in demand management for a Finished Good.
2) I have created an MRP Group with strategy 40 and attached the group to the finished good product in the Material Master
3) I have set up a consumption mode of BWD/FWD 25/10.
4) I have create an item category group of NORM and added to the Sales Org 2 tab in the Material Master.
5) I created a sales order for the product.
6) I am using MRP Type PD with forecast parms of *,U,U,BLANK
6) I ran MPS for the product.

The problem is the sales are not consuming the Independent Requirements.
What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.

hi

Item category in Sales order controls the consumption.. caheck the item category in SO has the requirement class which facilitates consumption.

Thanks for the reply Ashish. Where do you see the connection between the Item Category and the requirements class?

Update Mixed MRP Indicator

Strategy 40 indicates you're doing Assembly planning, so make sure you indicate that the material in question is in fact you're assembly. Set the Mixed MRP Indicator in the material master to "1", and you should be fine.
