Your question seems rather unspecific ... and like a carte blance for any cunning consultant to make a fortune on you.

I presume you are not talking about the technical aspects, but rather from an application point of view. A good starting point could be help.sap.com and search for "Personnel Time Management" "Time Data Recording". SAP note 396182 ("Integration between logistics and HR") also gives some insight.
