Problem with order BOM and BOM transfer

Postby guest123 » Thu Sep 11, 2003 9:53 am

Hi Gurus,
The business process is like this -
1. We enter sales order for project. ( VA01)
2. In sales order, we enter configurable materials as items.
3. Then we upload order BOMs for those items (CS61/62)
4. Then we transfer those BOMs to PS ( CSKB and CN33)
5. Then we release the project
6. PRs are generated after release of the project by BOM explosion.

Now the problem we are facing is with transaction CSKB.
When we enter SO no and item no in CSKB , Valid from date is defaulted.
However, for some of the items, this date is system date and for some, it's required delivery date in SO.

We tried to analyze the reason for this. ( Valid from date in CSKB should be system date always ) and found that this date is getting defaulted from BOM key date in VBAP table.

Now, this field is populated at the time of creation / change of SO.
For some items, the value in this field is 00/00/0000 and for some items, it's 'Reqd delivery date' in SO.

This is the date which gets defaulted in CSKB as valid from date.

Can somebody explain why this is happening ? This date should always be 00/00/0000 for us so that SY-DATE is defaulted in CSKB. How this date gets populated at the creation / change of SO ? How can we correct this ?

Any help / guess will help a lot ...please

Hi Gurus,

Any suggestion for the question below? I encountered a similar problem.

The business process is like this -
1. We enter sales order ( VA01)
2. In sales order, we enter configurable materials as items.
3. Then we freeze/change boms in CSKB

The problem is in CSKB, "Valid from date" of order BOM components is defaulted using the "required delivery date" in SO. We hope we can use the current date as the "valid from date"

Thanks in advance.
