OpenPS and MS Project

Post by Zebuth » Mon Feb 21, 2011 4:26 am

Hi.
I have never used OpenPS. As it is written on several SAPfans mails, I know I have to download OpenPS4MSP from SAP Service Marketplace. For the moment, I just need to explain to my customer what we have to do in the future. So, if one or two PS experts can explain me how it must be implemented, that is to say :
- Is there any customising on OpenPS or PS to activate this interface ?
- Is there any developpement (OpenPS, or on PS like Abap, Badi, UE, etc ...) ?
- Is OpenPS a real tool, or is it a group of function modules or other ?
- Other information which could help me to see the impact on my current PS mission ?

I hope you understand I am not asking you "how to do" ! But only "what I must do" ! It is just for my project impact !

Thanks in advance.

from memory : don't forget the authorizations you need.

openPS is just a plugin in MSprojects that calls some function modules by RFC. No customising ot developments to do.

I have used it successfully. You need role SAP_PES_EPS assigned to your user id.

SAP have another tool now called EPC Enterprise Project Connect - currently only works with Primavera but a new version to be launched later in year will work with MSP 2010.
