Lights Out Machining

Postby vdmron » Thu Jun 17, 2010 6:31 am

Hi All

My client would like to set up "Lights Out Machining" in the PS/CATS modules. Basically what they have is one person who is working on two jobs. The employee is watching a machine that can process to jobs at one time. So for each job, it would take 8 hours each if they were done separately, but since both are running at the same time, the employee books 4 hours to each job to make up his/her time. The employee is paid correctly because all of his/her hours are accounted for, but the jobs do not reflect the actual hours taken, because they should each have 8 hours. Has anyone done something similar to this, and if so, what was your solution.

Thanks In Advance

We created Dummy Emp Numbers for machines and captured Machine time and transferred cost (based on Cost center/Act Rate) to project
