LSMW - Equipment vs Characteristic values

Postby BRUNO - PT » Wed Jan 07, 2004 1:19 pm

Hello,

If I´m going to make Data Migration in to the SAP by LSMW, do I´ve to migrate first the Equipments with the classes associated to them, and then migrate (in another file) the values for the characteristics for those Equipments.

Is this correct???

Appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Bruno.

Hi Bruno,

If you use LSMW (object 0400, method 001) the default structures used are

Code: Select all
IBIPEQUI IBIP: Equipment
|---> IBIPNSTA IBIP: Status management - new status profile
|---> IBIPSTAT IBIP: User status - function
|---> IBIPDOCU IBIP: Document management system - allocation
|---> IBIPPART IBIP: Partner details
|---> IBIPTEXT IBIP: Long text line
|---> IBIPCLAS IBIP: Classification: classif. record
      |---> IBIPFEAT IBIP: Classification characteristics
|---> IBIPBDCD IBIP: Direct BDCDATA: formatted BDCDATA: expert use only

The two structures that you need to populate are IBIPCLAS and IBIPFEAT. This will associate classes with the equipment and characteristic values for each associated class. You only need to load a value for each characteristic you have regardless of the number of charatceristics associated with the class for that equipment.

I hope this helps. If you have any dramas just drop me a PM and I should be able to sort them out for you.

Hi,
Usually I create at first the equipment and with a second upload, I assign classes and values.

Thanks

Hi all.

I´m loading PM equipment data with LSMW, and when try to load classes the system shows this error:

Subscreen dynpro "OBJECT " not found

Anybody knows how to fix it?

The equipment is just created into the system.

I´m using two structures, one of them for equipment data (only equipment number), and second one for class data (equipment number, class number)

Thanks in advance!
