Labor cost detailed planing and recording

Postby Sallyxu » Wed Jul 30, 2014 4:51 am

Hi PM Guru,

Our business requirement is to plan the work and record the actual work with individual cost.

1. We create HR master data for each maintenance personnel in which there is his hourly rate(Base)

2. In PM order, we plan work individually

3. By confirmation we get the actual cost

Theare are 2 questions involved.

1. In case of overtime (150%, 200% 300% of base), how to select the rate? is it by the actual time? we can set up standard work time to 100%, and set up 150% for after hour, 200% for weekend and 300% for holiday in calendar?

2. If we use the rate in HR, do we need to use activity type rate?

Please help me.

Sally,

These differing rates are usually handles with different Activity Type (and associated rate)

Hi Pete,

Activity type is the average rate, if we need actual employee rates with different types, namely 100%, 150%, 200%, 300%.

Is it possible to be done between HR and PM?

Thank you,

Sally

Sally,

As standard, the planned/actual costs are derived from a cost centre/activity type combination using the KP26 values.

If you want to change the way these costs are calculated (i.e. do not use the cost centre/activity type combination) then you will need to develop a solution.

In this case I would strongly recommend talking to your FICO/Finance Team first.

Hi Pete,

This is only for maintenance department internal management.

I'd like to know in HR , can we set up different rates, i.e. overtime and non overtime per each maintenance personnel?

If yes, we can input plan hour to get the plan labor cost in addition to detailed schedule on daily basis, and after confirmation, we can get the same info on actual.

Please let me know from HR and PM point of view, is it feasible?

Thank you,

Sally
