Labor Confirmation and Order Actual End Date

Postby mxporkchop » Mon Jul 14, 2014 10:34 am

Hello SAP Fans,

We want to be able to post labor confirmations against a PM work order without affecting the actual end date on the work order. The general idea is that we want to record the date of the last day of the actual wrench time as the actual end date. When a supervisor comes later (possible after a day or two) to perform an inspection, we want to record the time spent by the supervisor performing the inspection, but don't want the date of when the inspection was done to change the actual end date.

In short, the actual end date should show the last day of the wrench work, not the day of the inspection.

Have you had this particular requirement? If so, how did you address it?

Hi,

I doubt if there is a standard sap way in order to accomplish this.

perhaps that userexit CONFPM05 or BADI WORKORDER_CONFIRM can bring you an answer.

Isn't that what the TECO date is for??

Hi Pete,

I think it depends on the way how you set up your processes and how you interpretate the different data in the system.
Perhaps they only set TECO if the inspection was done. Than they still don't know what the actual working end time was.

If they use it as a KPI perhaps it is better if they define a report based on the confirmated work (status operation in combination with workcenter??) instead of looking into the header data of the order.

I did have one client that had an operation specifically for confirming the end date/time of the the work.

The final confirmation on this operation was then used in a customer-specific report.

We use multiple operations on orders and we've had issues where the users were running IW42 to confirm labor and it will bring in all operations whether partial or final confirmation and it will change the dates on all operations if you're not aware. We have to report on dates for compliance reasons so we've had some headaches. I prefer IW41 for individual operation(s).
