Interface issue

Postby hersam » Sun Jun 22, 2014 3:17 am

Hello All,
I am working in the design of an outbound interface to a planning board. This interface is called update interface wherein a list of fields- asset and address details are send. This interface is triggered whenever there is any change in the address or the asset details.
Now my problem is, I am creating my notification at equipment level and the address details are mapped in connection object ( functional location level).
If there is any change in contact info, then the program should look for any open notification/order associated and trigger the interface.
This seems to be a very arduous task. If any one changes any details of address or asset data, I should keep triggering the interface.
Now the address and asset details are updated via work completion of a job( can be done manually) or updates received from the supplier.
Please share your opinion as to how can I propose a leaner option.
Regards
Hersam

Hersam,

Try reading the Changed On date (AEDAT) of the Connection Object (FLoc) to find the FLoc changed, then determine if the Address was changed (via change documents). The send that data over the interface.

Hello Pete,
Reading aedat and change document for every change in flog, might affect the performance. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hersam,

Yeah - it can be slow reading the Change Documents (CDHR/CDPOS).

But hopefully you won't have too many Connection Objects that have changed, so you won't have too many Change Documents to search for..

Hello Pete,
Thanks for your reply.
We do get frequent update from our suppliers about address/asset update.
I do not know if it is feasible to go ahead with this.
Any other way.
Thanks
Hersam

Hersam,

You could try working backwards from the Address changes (table ADRC), then see if any of these addresses are linked to Connection Objects..
