Finite scheduling issue

Postby SvenMueller » Tue Jun 10, 2014 1:11 pm

Hi everybody

We have the following problem: We want to use the capacity availability check for PM orders. Therefore, we have created a work center with according capacities. When executing the capacity availability check the system seems to behave correct and gives a message “work centers with overload” in case there are not sufficient capacities available. However, when executing the “finite scheduling” button, the system does unfortunately not calculate a new start date (as it should) but just gives the “old” start date.

I found several topics here with the same/ a similar problem, but unfortunately none of the suggested solution works for us. In conclusion, these solutions included:
· “In your work centre, go to the capacity header screen and set the Relevant to finite scheduling flag”

· “Have a look at your IMG scheduling parameters for your plant/order type combination via TCode OPU7”

· “have a look at control key in IMG scheduling ,Det.Cap.Req. should have ticks”

· “Check that the Determine Capacity Requirements flag is set in the Operation Control Key.”

· In OIOI the box “no check” is not ticked and overall profile “SAPPM_G013” is used

Does somebody have another idea how we can fix the problem?

Additional information: We had big problems to start working with the capacity availability check. We found out that there was a problem with the selection profile in the overall profile. In transaction BS42 some of the “status”-fields were missing.
Is it possible that our current problem does also have something to do with some wrong/missing SAP Standard data?

Thank you very much in advance!!

Best regards,

Sven

Sven,

Have you seen this link:

Also try searching google using "SAP finite scheduling" or "SAP capacity planning" or "SAP capacity levelling"

Hi Pete

Thanks for your answer. I already did some search on help.sap.com but unfortunately it did not help to find a solution.

Have you seen Prometheus Group's Graphical Scheduler? It provides a stoplight indicator for capacity loading.

Here's more information: http://www.prometheusgroup.com/collater ... eduler.pdf

Thanks for your answer! Unfortunately, it does not solve our problem since our client only wants to use SAP Standard functionality.

Hi
In the meantime I had contact with SAP and we could fix the issue. The problem was caused by the limited range (-1 to 1) in the planning period for time profile “SAP__Z006” which is part of the standard profile SAPPM_G013. We made a copy of the standard profile with a modified range in the planning period (-5 to 45) and the capacity availability check works as it is supposed to work.
I hope this information might be useful for other users, too.
Best regards,
Sven
