Postby rajkumar1000 » Mon Mar 12, 2012 12:17 am

Dear Experts

Here is the scenario

1) Equipment is created without Serial number
2) Material Master with Equipment type created with serial number which is equivalent to Equipment from step 1
3) Assign serial number in Equipment
4) create a service notifcation
5) create a sales order with service material "Installation100" and released
6) create a service order from service notification with component (spare parts ) GI, Confirm
what is the process for delivery of the equipment and billing for the equipment to the customer

because my sales order and service order only covering service and spare parts

Thanks in advance for your kind advise and reply

Regards

Raj

Please describe your scenario in business terms. You didn't give enough information to suggest you any solution.

Hi Raj,

There are manny ways to go to Rome.

One way is:
Create a SalesOrder with the material you want to sel to the customer.
Add another item called service product (also a material) in the sales order to describe the service like installation of equipment.
Because of a specified requirement type/class in customizing and the use of the correct item category in the sales order, a service order will be created.
With that service order you can post your hours and post your spare parts.
For the Sales order create a delivery document to bring your material serialnumber to your customer.

The other way is:
Place your material serial number in the component tab-page of the service order.
Create an advance shipment order for your service order which will generate a specific sales order which can be delivered to the customer.

Again another way is:
Create a sales order via the notification to deliver your material serial number.

So whcih way to choose depends on your specific business process.
