Dump while creating service order

Postby akrason » Tue Nov 21, 2017 4:52 am

We are implementing service order creation (PM) out of sales contract (SD) where we use a configurable material. We have allowed delivery so the OS with components is created at the same time as sales document with it's BOM.
If by a mischance one of the materials to be used is not yet created in the plant a violent dump occurs rather than an error message.
Apparently SAP Note 685820 justifies it by the necessity to avoid inconsistency between OS and sales docment.

Did anyone experience such situation ?
How to avoid the loss of information (configuration) ?
Even though the risk of materials declared in the configurator and not fully managed is low this will happen.
I especially think about phase-in and phase-out situations.
