Attach word document to planned maintenance

Postby lootwo » Thu May 03, 2012 11:29 am

Hello,
I have planned maintenance that comes out on ZM03 work orders. Each time the ticket is called and printed I would like a word document printed out with the ticket. I have read that you attach it using the PRT function in Task List & the document needs to be created using CV01N. I have tried to do this but really dont understand how to use CV01N. In other types of notification I just attach a file and it gets stored in the vault but it is totally different in CV01N. Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Lootwo

Hi

You use CV01n to create a Document number with a specific Document Type. In that Document, you will attach your Original File (Word or Excel or ...) (preferably) from a central database.
You will attach the Document (number) to your Objects and they become available when you access the Object.
Example: You attach the SAP Document to n Equipment. You create an Order for the Eq From the Order you will be able to view the Document.

If you are using the attachment functionality, the link is local. You will not be able to access it across functions (as above)

In the Std System, you need to open the attachment using PC Softwares and print it. SAP does not support printing it as part of the Shop-papers. You may need to enhance the system for it.

You can develop a solution to print PDF's WORD documents etc via your workshop paper.

Prometheus Group have an "off the shelf" solution called Print Manager which you may want to investigate.

I believe there are other 3rd party solutions also??
