End Use

Post by micheleshdwfx » Mon Jul 23, 2018 11:08 am

Hello all. We have a new requirement to store the end use in the material master. I've searched this entire forum and got no results on "end use". I understand there is no standard SAP functionality for this info in the material master. Has anyone else run into this requirement? If so, how did you solve it? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi,

At this point I don't have the answer, but just a couple of questions:
How do you want to use the "end use"?
In which processes should this be used?

I don't have a lot more info. We are implementing GTS and apparently there is no place for this end use info in there so I'm being asked to find a home for it in the material master. There are only a few values needed (e.g. Paper Industry) so at this time I'm leaning towards repurposing an old custom field that we are no longer using.

Hi Michele

I can't give you a definitive answer on this, but I would suggest that if I was implementing the SAP GTS industry solution, then I would expect all the relevant fields to become available on installation so that I could use it in the way they designed it

The team, including consultants, implementing GTS tells me that we must find a home for it in the material master. Thanks for your feedback!

Hello,

What about material group 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5, on the sales view of the material?
Standard functionality. However the fields might not be showing on the sales view of the material, since they might be hidden.

I believe it needs to be on the header level but thank you for the suggestion.
