Hi,

You can enable shelf life functionality without batch management. Yet, this will only be with very limited option i.e. only check upon goods receipt if the material has sufficient shelf life. However, it does not allow you to monitor the shelf life of the material that is kept on stock which is only enabled with batch management activation (as standard MB5M only functions for batch managed materials).

Cheers,
HT

Hi,

There is only one configuration in Inventory Management (IMG --> Material Management --> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory --> Goods Receipt --> Set Expiration Date Check where you will activate the SLED check at both plant and movement type level. Make sure also to enter the value in the total shelf life field of the material master (Plant Data / Storage 1 View). Upon GR posting, you can choose to enter the SLED manually or let SAP to calculate it automatically through the date of production value that you enter.

Cheers,
HT
