GR for non-valuated material does not raise stock quantity

Postby RookieUS » Tue Sep 08, 2015 10:37 pm

Hi,

We use a non valuated material type which is pre-configured to do only quantity updates and no value udaptes. When creating PO to procure this material, we use K account assignment category hoping that it would raise the material quantity in stock upon GR. However, the material quantity gets expensed upon receipt and does not raise the quantity. I would expect that to only happen with HALB that has both quantity and value update turned on but not on UNBW.Can someone please explain this system behavior? is this due to a certain key in the cost center that is driving the expense upon receipt

Thanks

Try to check if the settings for UNBW in that particular plant, the quantity updating has been ticked ?

Hi,

At first, I guess you are not using 103 GR posting but related standard movement type which actually allows the receipted quantity to be placed into the chosen storage location (101, for instance). Secondly, did you check if the GR was carried out successfully? If yes, go back to your GR document and check if the receiving storage location (which is normally defaulted from the PO) is defined and the stock type is set as ''Unrestricted Use Stock''. Lastly, check in MB51 transaction to see if there is any follow-on goods issue posting which was executed upon GR posting. There was often a system enhancement in several companies to enable automatic goods issue posting (for outstanding reservation) upon GR posting.

Cheers,
