Procure Customer Stock ( Item Category C )

Postby vdmron » Wed May 06, 2015 8:47 am

Hi All

We have a situation where the customer will supply us some of the material for our projects.
From what I read, we can create a purchase order for these items using Item category 'C' - Customer Stock
We do not have this item category in our system ( ECC6, no EHP's ).
I have searched all the enhancement packs to see where I could apply the enhancement to get this into our system, but I can not find it anywhere.

Does anyone know where this functionality can be enabled ?

Thanks in Advance

This is not SAP-standard. You need to have your MM team configure it per your business requirements.
Good luck!

Hi

Item category C is part of IS A&D which explains why you don't see it in standard ECC. Two suggestions:

1. Maybe using consignment ( special stock K) to receive mateial
2. Maybe using sales order stock ( Special stock E). This one starts with a sales order where you list the materials that the customer will provide to (probably in a BOM situation) provide along with part/services you provide. For the materials he will provide, you use SD item category TAB which will automatically create a PO with MM account assignment catgory E. When you receive the material, it will be linked to the sales order by virtue of the E stock indicator.
