Daily Cycle Count Question

Postby RichardP » Mon Mar 30, 2015 7:03 pm

Hi SAP Guru's!

We are having difficulty with the output of T-Code MICN, for the creation of our daily cycle count process.

Can you please explain how this count date is determined?

Some days we will see only a couple parts being batched to count.

Other days we will see a couple hundred being batched to count.

Based on our ABC analysis we have set:

A materials to be counted every 19 working days

B materials to be counted every 60 working days

C materials to be counted every 120 working days

We stratified using MIBC to auto set the ABC indicator and manually set the last count in the data table for all materials to 12/31/14 to try and reset the system.

Does this mean that ALL B parts will show up at the same time at the end of March, as soon as the 60 working days have transpired?

Does this mean that ALL C parts will show up at the same time at the end of June, as soon as the 120 working days have transpired?

Or is their some background variable that will set and plan the parts accordingly so that they are evenly distributed to count?

My concern is that all the B parts will show up at the same time to count and then in 60 more working days, all the C parts. These are thousands of materials and it simply isn't feasible to count all at once on the same day.

Is their a way to stratify the system so that the materials are evenly distributed to count?

Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Do I need to rephrase the problem statement?
