Route determination in the return PO

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to set up the system to automatically determine the shipment route (in the shipping tab) when the return purchase order is created in ME21N transaction? What I have done were -

1) Assign the shipping condition to the vendor master in XK02 transaction together with the customer number;
2) Assign the transportation group to the material master; and
3) Define and assign the shipping point to my plant location from which the material is returned to the vendor;
4) Define and assign the departure zone to my plant location
5) Define the receiving zone in configuration
6) Define the automatic route determination

When my return PO is created, all related information were populated except for route.

Hi all,

I have eventually figured out how to get it done. The misisng step is to assign the transportation zone to the customer master which is equivalent to the receiving zone based on which the route is determined.

Another problem, I encountered, however, is that if I use MIGO transaction to post goods return to vendor with reference to my original goods receipt with movement type 122, even though the outbound delivery document was generated successfully, the route was not determined as expected if I don't use the weight group in my route determination configuration. Can anyone confirm if it is of standard SAP functionality that it is mandatory to use weight group if we choose to generate outbound delivery using MIGO transaction to return our shipment to vendor (i.e. without using return PO)? The disadvantage is that we have to enter the weight (net and gross) in the original PO if we wish to get it worked which is quite inconvenient.
