Split from: RFQ with quantity scaling

i am a new hand to SAP, i also have questions in the scaling condition problem
is that availability of different kinds of conditions are controlled by document types?
i know document type controls if condition is time-dependent or not
so how is this related to the use of scaling condition (or is this a different issue)?

thanks
