Requisition has different doc. type NB and item cat. ><

Post by ahreyes500 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 7:17 pm

In trying to create a PO (ME21N) using line item category "L" (subcontracting) we run into this error message: "Requisition has different doc. type NB and item cat. ><. We have created this type of POs in the past without any problems; we just noticed this problem last week.

No config changes have gone in our production system except for the implementation of support packs (APPL Level 055); we are currently on 4.6c

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi ahreyes500,

Is your PO created with reference to PR?
If yes, what is a PR item category? Blank=standard?
How your PR was created? From Production Order? Check EBAN-ESTKZ, is it "F"?

Hello Malgo,

PO is referencing a PReq,
PReq Item category = blank = standard;
PReq was created from a Production Order
EBAN-ESTKZ = F
EBAN-PSTYP = 0

Thanks and regards,

Hi ahreyes500,

If the PR is for Production Order EBAN-ESTKZ = F
you can not change the item category from PR in PO.
Your PR item category has to be L - subcontracting.

Hello Malgo,

Then indeed we were impacted by the support pack implementation. Where would I configure the system so that "item category" can be entered from the Production Order when materials are ordered?

Hi,

I have no idea, but I would suggest using Search engine in PP forum.
You can find several postings which probably can help you as for example:
