Combine stock determination and batch determination

Post by F1N » Wed Oct 03, 2007 5:35 am

Dear expert,

We have requirement to combine stock and batch determination.

When doing batch split of delivery order, we only do from sloc A, B and C. Sloc D and E are excluded cause it's location for SFG. For those sloc A,B,C we also need to apply batch determination based on certain rule e.g. expiry date. Any standard funtion can fulfill this scenario? I have create stock determination where put sloc A,B,C with priority 1 and assign to item category TAN. But during picking it also took stock from sloc D or E where the expiry date is earlier.

Another question is what characteristic that it ios also expected to do sorting based on batch creation date. The batch creation date can be based on GR date from PO or from production order (can i use MCHA-LWEDT or MCHA-VERAB that available on MSC3N?)

Any suggestion are welcome, thank you in advance.

My advice would be to post this on the SD Forum

I wish you good courage because courage will lead you to be a star and afraid will lead you to death. Be well and patient.

Hi F1N,

Have you maintained the "SLED" characteristic for your batches?
You need to do that in order to use batch determination.

Maybe OSS note 365570 - Stock determination in LE-WM can give a bit more light into your issue.

I've done the workaround:

Assign stock det. rule in item cat and material (plant 2). So far it works.
Also, I need to exclude the unnecessary sloc from MRP, so that during availability check this sloc is also excluded.

You can exclude storage locations from MRP in the material master MRP 4 view. Select the plant and the storage location and you will get 4 more fields at the bottom of the screen, the first giving the possibility to exclude the storage location from the MRP calculations.
