Loan process in SAP?

Hi Gurus,

Just come across that business asking if SAP support any material loan process?

Case:
We have few number of raw parts (A) sitting in our warehouse. We also purcahse another component (B) from supplier.
We need component B urgently and we understand from the supplier that they need parts A to produce component B.
Supplier have ordered part A but it need to wait for 2 weeks to arrive.
So, company think to loan the part A to supplier so that they can come back with B promptly. But it does not mean that we SELL part A to supplier.
Supllier will need return part A to my company once it arrive to supplier.

Sound complicated right? Do you think any process in SAP can support this?

industry solution DFPS suppurts such processes. You might ask SAP if they also provide this process for other customers as they already did this for the requirement prioritization process.

The simplest solution is to post goods issue and goods return transaction with the cost to the pre-defined cost object.
