Product Hierarchy Levels in SAP

Postby subodhd » Wed Nov 18, 2015 6:06 am

Hi
Just a few questions on product hierarchy:
Lets say we have 5 levels of product hierarchy in the system.

Is it mandatory to assign all 5 levels to all material masters? Or can some materials have their last level at level 4, some have their last level at level 3 and so on?

Also is there an easy way to find out all standard SAP reports in SD/ MM/ FI/ CO modules including the LIS reports that use product hierarchy as one of the selection criteria and or show them in the report outputs?

Thanks

Hi,

Regarding your questions:
Q1: Is it mandatory to assign all 5 levels to all material masters?
A1: no, but it would be advisable to get consistent reporting
Q2: Or can some materials have their last level at level 4, some have their last level at level 3 and so on?
A2: yes, see also the answer on question Q1.
Q3: Also is there an easy way to find out all standard SAP reports in SD/ MM/ FI/ CO modules including the LIS reports that use product hierarchy as one of the selection criteria and or show them in the report outputs?
A3: not really easy. I do know that in the SIS reporting there is a standard function available to do a selection on product hierarchy.

Trust this helps.
