Allocate Stocks for a Customer

Postby sapsmile » Thu Apr 30, 2015 5:02 am

Hi all,

Is it possible to allocate or reserve or block Promotion Quota or allocation of stocks to customer in SAP itself, other than stock block by MM.
Eg: 100 cases of Article 1234 need to be reserved for Customer AB123. It should not be picked for another order/delivery.
Experts, please suggest a solution in SAP.

One option is to use a requirements type that uses special stock 'E'. This will create a stock segment specifically for your sales order. You can then either procure to order or transfer existing stock to the customer segment.
Good luck!

Hi,
Did you take a look at product allocation?
Did you take a look at
- movement type 412 E (to create a reservation for a sales order) and
- movement type 411 E (to delete the reservation on the sales order)

Thanks for the reply. When I tried MB1B with 412E, after entering the newly created sales order number and line I am getting an error message " Use a sales order that is planned for goods movements ". I have used a Standard Order type which was not accepted there. Which will the order type suitable for movement with 412E. Please help...

The order type is not important - it is the requirements class that determines whether or not you can have sales order stock (412E). You need to enlist the services of someone well versed in SD configuration.
Good luck!

A regular transfer of requirements reserves the stock to the sales order as well, E stock is not mandatory here.
Depending on the business scenario you migh also want to consider consignment stock.
