[RESOLVED] Prevent output on maintain Sales Order

Post by AndyW » Fri Jul 16, 2010 12:47 am

Hi All
We have a requirement whereby an output from a sales order should only be printed when the sales order is created and not when it is subsequently changed. I've gone through the usual process of setting up the Output Type, assigning it to Access Sequences and maintaining VV11 etc but although it feels like this should be simple to do I can't figure it out. I also can't I find any other information online that explains how to handle this specific scenario.

We're running on 4.6C.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated!

Andy

Hi,
It is my understanding that you did search this forum for your opportunity.
As far as I can recall: go into the configuration of the output type and look for some element called "Multiple Issuing".
F1 Help is providing the following:
Multiple issuing of output
Indicates whether the same output may be issued to the same partner more
than once.
Example
For example, if you add an order item to a sales order for which the
order confirmation was already sent, you will want to send a changed
output to the same customer.

Thanks for the reply, however, I already set the Output Type up without the 'Multiple Issuing' flag set.

If I look at Extras | Output | Header | Edit for a sales order that has already printed copies of the output following changes to the sales order, there is still only one entry for that Output Type. If I then look at the Determination Analysis there is one entry for the Output Type which succesfully determines the output and another one which does not and provides the message "Message cannot be transmitted more than once". Presumably this is due to the "Multiple Issuing" flag not being set and is in fact correct. However, every time the sales order is subsequently saved another output is issued.

Hi,
Take a look at your output procedure.
Maybe you need to set a requirement next to your output type in the procedure.
Also: do search this forum on your opportunity and you might find some good notes.

It turns out that there is some custom code in the sales order processing that controls the output of the documents. I just needed to update the code to include the new output type.
