Collective Shipment?

Post by birdiemaker » Mon Feb 04, 2008 4:51 pm

I want to batch many small LTL shipments onto one "parent" shipment.

I want to keep the integrity of all of the LTL shipments intact as this is a customer requirement. I then want to load all of these individual shipments to a "parent shipment" bound for a distribution center.

This would obviously reduce my freight cost dramatically.

Is this possible?

Sure -- create a shipment (VT01n), and assign each delivery to the shipment. Create a shipping manifest from the shipment document, and do not create individual BOLs for the delivery (just make delivery notes). Then, you don't need signatures on each delivery, but you have independent documentation / packing lists, etc...
