I have 2 and a half years of experience as an SAP BASIS Administrator in a suppport profile, and 4 years of IT experience overall.I am not liking my work nor do I want to work in shifts.I am thinking about a move into SAP Security.Would it be a sensible and feasable move?I also want to get out of a support profile.Would I be able to move into a consulting or a domestic support profile(no night shift) in SAP Security?I am located in India. Please advise.

there is less money in Security compared to Basis.

but you should work more regular hours with Security.

this move is feasible.... But I find Security less interesting than Basis.

The money is dependent on the market you are in. In the UK it's reasonably similar between the two disciplines.

Ravman - while you be able to do some of the tech side you should be asking yourself if you want to develop a good understanding of business processes, risk management, controls etc. if that stuff interests you then go for it, if it doesn't then you will be stuck resetting passwords.
