Event Driven Message Processing in SAP XI/PI – Scheduling a SAP XI/PI Message Processing

http://saptrainingsonline.com/sap-xi-pi ... sap-xi-pi/

Why do we need to schedule a XI/PI message processing?
1. Processing of SAP NW PI messages may have to be orchestrated with other business process
2. Not all business processes are real-time or near-real-time; many of them are ‘scheduled’ (example: FI month-end closing, Daily bank payment process etc.)

What is Event-Driven Message Processing?
Processing of messages in XI/PI can be delayed and scheduled based on an event (These messages are stored in queues until the particular event occurs. The event could be a particular time – for instance, you might want to hold a particular type of message until midnight, and then send all messages of that type – or it could be any type of event that can be processed by the ABAP job scheduler)
