Hi!
First of all, I have to say that I have had next to no experience with SAP before (probably seen the UI and installed the client a couple of times years ago). Now, I guess my question is mainly directed at people that have started to work as SAP professionals after some experiences with other ERP solutions (be it MS Dynamics or something else). I have been active for some years with a smaller, less known system that is mostly aimed at SME market.
I see less personal and professional career opportunities within that software and therefore I'm looking for new opportunities. That should also mean switching the software (along with the organization, obviously). I think I have developed good understanding of the ERP software functioning logic and the development processes between the business side and IT.
Now as some of the opportunities out there are indeed with SAP, I'd probably mostly like to hear from people with the similar experience - how much of a head start would knowledge in some other ERP system give me when pursuing opportunities in SAP, given that I have next to no prior experience with this particular system? And most of all, how difficult is switching to SAP administrator/consultant/developer (I'm not talking about hands-on programming here!) from another system, if given the chance in terms of learning etc? Details should clearly be different, but overall, are there vast differences?
Thanks in advance!
