Documentation Tool for PI / ALE

Postby milk_shake_69 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:56 am

Dear Experts,
is there a tool available which can extract the interface settings and send them e.g. to Excel on an other tool?

We are looking for a solution to create our interface documentation / overview by using the data directly out of the system. In other words...the tool reads all interface settings and displays them as a kind of a documentation.

Thank you for your help!

Not that i am aware of! it would save me so much time if this was available.

this gives you an idea of where some of the data is stored! how usable it maybe.... i can't comment!

there is no specific tool for this as per my knowledge.
but what you can do if you want to try something out and will cost you less time than writing a long program is doing a record of what you would like to do in sap by using the transaction lsmw or any other transactions which will allow you to record your steps.

after the recording, there will be some scripts generated in ABAP. you can schedule in job in sap to run this script according to your need.

I have ever used lsmw for another kind of recording, but not like your case.

However, i hope it might help getting an idea in this direction as well.

hi noushasap1

most of the required tables are in Java and not ABAP...

and do you mean SHDB rather than LSMW?
