If you go down the HTTP route, it should use the standard ports.

yes, it needs to be a public available IP address although sometimes you can connect with a private IP and router string! :)

HI,

I stuck in my scenario. In XI I am mapping source idoc to target idoc [both are different]. Since earlier I didn't had connection with the Target SAP system, so I asked client to provide the target IDoc XSD. I did mapping using those XSD and created and configured message interfce with same.

Now when I've established the connection with end system.... message is getting failed in XI since inbound interface is a message interface based on iDOC XSD instead of IDOC itself.

I believe I've to import idoc from target system in Integration repository and in IDX2..

any suggestions??? am i correct in my understanding?? is there any other way around??

If it is a standard SAP Idoc you can import that in into IDX2.
