RFC exception can't be catched in Runtime Workbench

Post by KAFFUNMAN » Thu Nov 18, 2010 5:16 am

Hi expert,

My scenario is FTP<->SAP RFC in sync mode,
(FTP adapter setting are QoS: Best Effort / Processing Mode: Delete)
while catching exception from RFC (no matter system/application failure),
the corresponding message always can not be found in Runtime Workbench -> Message Monitor -> Message Overview (Messages from Component: Adapter Dev / From: Database (Overview)).
Supposed that those records should be shown in Error or scheduled.
Also, even I got exception from RFC, the source file still cab be deleted instead of stopping in PI.

Thanks in advance~

the idea of the Error you report is to deliver the error report to the source system in synchronous interfaces.

the errors you see in RWB and SXMB_MONI relate to failed messages. returning an error is not the same as an failed message.

however all is not lost... if you need to throw an error in PI for this type of response, it can be done.

if you want to catch the exception and throw an error in SAP PI for this, you can use the information in this blog to do so:

With PI7.1 you do not need to import the archives as they are already available....
