SRM - Dynamic Change of Catalog area on the Shopping Cart

Postby srmer » Mon Mar 20, 2006 10:02 pm

Hello!
One of my client requirements is to dynamically change the Catalog area on the Shopping Cart to refresh and display the Catalog links based on a Ship-to address they specify in a custom field on the screen. We would like to know if this is possible and if SAP recommends the custom work.
A custom field (ship-to code) will be added on the first screen of the Shopping Cart where the Catalog area is present.
Catalog links (Punchout sites) will be mapped to specific ship-to site codes in the background.
Based on a specific Ship-to code selected by the user, can SRM automatically refresh the screen to show only the punchout catalog links available for that Ship-to site code? Are there any user exits for this? Does this require source-code changes? If so do SAP recommend
this? Have any clients acheived this functionality in the past?

Thank you.

need a little clarification

It seems like you are asking for the following -

"We need to control which catalogs are available to the requestor, based on where the requestor wants the products shipped..."

Is that what you're asking? In which case I should think you could assign catalogs to users in your org plan. And then assign users according to which catalogs they need access to see.

Does this make sense? Please try to describe the business problem you are solving here.

I hope this helps, Best, Jim

The business issue is, users should not be restricted which catalogs they can access and use - users should be able access all catalogs. But, before they select a catalog, they need to know which catalog is available for which region or state.

Training issue, not one to implement in SRM. Write down a list of the catalogs and their respective regions and email it to the users.

hi,

little standard modification of template by adding a link to excel file where you can search for your catalog by région (excel file stored on ITS) or even small BSP.

Hello,

what about naming convention for the catalogs.

Name of the catalog in look up is free entry so you can name your catalog by name of the region.

Or inside catalog you can have dummy product group which will be named after region and all product groups will belong to this group.

Need more ideas?
