Can we outlaw (add to the rules) bumping? The practice of trying to keep a topic at the top of the list? If a topic (job) slips down the list, it's probably because no one is interested.

It's paticularly rife in the Job forum. It really upsets me - sometimes I even have a little cry about it.

Wouldn't that be the same as banning substitutions in the last ten minutes of a football match??

A bloody good idea, but totally unworkable?
