[R]PMs not being sent - they stay in the Outbox?

Postby thx4allthefish » Thu Sep 04, 2008 5:55 am

Yesterday, aroung 2100 h CET i PMed Snowy about something - the PM is still in my 'outbox' and does obviously not get sent? Is this service down in general or do i have a user-specific problem here?

also: i'd like to know the algorithm or the time period which moves the PMs from the outbox to the receipient since i have the feeling that my outbound ones are very slow while inbound ones coming from other users are pretty quick. this cannot be frontend-related since i observed this phenomenon from both: work and home.

The PM's stay in the outbox until the intended recipient opens/downloads them.

I think that probably addresses your algorithm question too.

are you sure about that? i never download anything - i get an e-mail from admin@sapfans.com that a new PM has arrived - so: the PM is already in my inbox when i get the mail, is it not?

same goes for outbond, does it not? :?:

I don't get the email alerts- guess that;'s an individual option.

I am absolutely sure that the email remains in Outbox untile the recipient reads it (which is what I meant by "downloads") - this is way different that Outlook for example.

You can run some tests on me if you like - then we can look at the PM issue. :)

PoD is correct! (how long has it been since he's heard that???)

The mail stays put until read by the recipient...
