Joberate (www.joberate.com) is an early stage startup in the HR Technology predictive analytics space. We’ve developed a disruptive approach to quantifying, measuring, and scoring job seeking behavior of the global workforce, and even though we are still an early stage startup we already have paying clients! The company’s vision is to become the FICO score equivalent for job seeking behavior, which we call a J-Score, but we have ambitious goals to enter other verticals in the future such as Financial Services, Media, and Macroeconomics.

The company seeks a Chief Technology Officer, preferably with a background in HR Technology or related technology (ie. ERP, etc.), with strong hands on experience in designing and evolving service-oriented, scalable applications in context of a business model that is focusing on “Big Data” as well as predictive modeling and machine learning.

This is an Executive Level leadership position that will be responsible for charting and developing the technical architecture required to solve complex business problems. The successful candidate will be involved in developing leading edge, “out of the box” advanced analytic solutions and processes.
Strategic function

Driving business strategy and innovation to leverage and integrate technology, while ingraining technology as a significant consideration in all executive decision-making when determining how to improve competitive position in the market. Advise and offer recommendations to Senior Management and direct reports on all matters relating to both internal and external technology opportunities and initiatives, including build or buy decisions, resource allocation, etc. Serving as the company spokesperson in regards to Technology, demonstrating leadership in the community with developers, partners, and customers/trade publications

Requirements

Intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial drive, structured thinking and problem solving skills, innovator
Bachelors Degree (but a Masters or PhD is preferred) in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics. Computer Sciences, OR, Industrial Engineering or equivalent)
Extensive cross-functional leadership experience over Engineering, QA, IT, and deployment
Deep understanding from an engineering perspective what is required to get projects completed
Demonstrated 7+ years Senior Level technology leadership with a passion for technology and an appreciation for outstanding product and experience design, preferably in advanced analytic solutions for business in a “Big Data” environment, HR Technology (or related field like ERP)
Passion for, and understanding of, designing and evolving service-oriented, scalable applications and APIs, and discovering new approaches to drive continued innovation
Should have an interest in Big Data, predictive modeling, and machine learning
Industry thought leader with a track record in developing new techniques or processes as they related to technology to support predictive analytics and machine learning. Prior publication, and experience in speaking engagements is highly preferred
Able to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
Ability to work with cross functional, multinational teams, and multiple stakeholders
Ability to effectively engage clients in discussions related to growth and solutions and develop relationships

Salary and other remuneration


This is a key hire so salary will be negotiable. Since Joberate is still a startup, the full remuneration will be heavily comprised of equity opportunity (upside). The CTO of Joberate has to understand that he/she is taking on an opportunity with a disruptive technology company where “first-employee” type of equity has tremendous long-term value.
