SAP Project Manager (Chicago)

Baker & McKenzie Global Services LLC is currently seeking a highly experienced SAP Project Manager.
The Project Manager will oversee the global project and will play a key role in the implementation of a new financial system across the entire Firm (SAP). The goal is to ensure that the system is implemented within the agreed timescales, costs and quality. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
â€¢ Plan, monitor and maintain responsibility for overall progress of project plan
â€¢ Maintain project within time and cost constraints
â€¢ Prepare detailed phase plans, resourcing plans and timescales
â€¢ Minimize project risks and create contingency plans
â€¢ Ensure quality checks are complete and customers signâ€“off on products
â€¢ Prepare progress reports and liaise with Project Steering Group to ensure they are informed of progress, issues and their resolution
â€¢ Responsible for project administration (record project time, save documents)
â€¢ Ensure that there is a controlled and defined handover of day-to-day operations for the new system and that there is an official close to the project
â€¢ Inspire the project team to achieve success
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
â€¢ Bachelors Degree required, MBA is a plus or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; PMI certification preferred
â€¢ A minimum of 10 years in a senior level IT role, with at least 5 years as a Project Manager
â€¢ An understanding of large Financial Packages (e.g. SAP, Elite, etc.)
â€¢ Experience managing large projects (those is excess of $10MM)
â€¢ Strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)
â€¢ Experience working in an international matrix environment
â€¢ Experience managing external consultants
