SEM BPS - Time Out/Global Planning Sequences

Postby Ted » Wed Dec 04, 2002 4:49 pm

Is there a limit on how long a global planning sequence can
run? Is there a time out property that needs to be set so I can
have the global planning sequence run for an entire day?
What if I run it in the background? Do I still need to worry if it times out?

Any help you can give me would be appreciated!

Sounds like a basis thing..

but yes you can control on how long a job (both background and foreground) runs before it is cancelled by the system..

As basis to increase the parameters for these two.. (backgroung and foreground)

As Chalasani said you can ask your basis guys to change the parameters, also you can run the Global Planning Sequences in the Background option, which won't time out.

We ended up creating special steps in the sequence to commit the work. This vastly improved our performance and ended the time out issue for us.
