SEM BPS vs Hyperion Planning

Postby Moni » Tue Dec 16, 2003 7:05 pm

Hi,

I am required to make a demo and prez to one of the clients who are looking at both Hyperion and SEM for Planning.

Could anyone tell me about the major pluses and minuses (I have not seen Hyperion as of now, except reading the whitepapers on the website).

Any help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Moni

SEM and Hyperion

Postby Moni » Wed Nov 29, 2006 12:43 pm

Hi MV

In terms of overall functionality, there is not much of difference. Till Hyperion 9, the functionality used to be spread across different modules and servers and needed integration. On the SAP front, we could have provided the same, using FOX and EXIT functions at few places. However, the key difference was the usability / user friendliness. Hyperion is much easier to use, with excel front end, drag and drop features etc, which SEM BPS did not offer.

I am now trying to start off n BI Integrated Planning, which is expected to offer the usablity similar to that of other products and hence, hopefully, even this issue would not be a problem.

Cheers

Moni
