FS Item: BCS - Planning VS BCS - Actual

Postby Cortez » Thu Jan 24, 2008 3:39 am

Hello SEM Experts,

We are currently implementing BCS for the Planning (link with BPS).
In another system we have BCS for the Actuals (link with R/3).

For the Planning we use a part of the CoA of the Actuals + some additional & specific accounts for Planning

The question is: How should we maintain the FS Items (OCS_ITEM)?
- Two differents infoobjects?
- One common infoobjects with maintenance of the Planning additional/specific account in BCS (that will be copied to BW after)

Thanks for your input!

Regards,

Mat

My recommendation is to use one common infoobject with maintenance of the Planning additional/specific account in BCS (that will be automatically copied/synchronized to BW after). This has been accomplished for my current project. A separate Planning FS Item hierarchy may be created to include these, or a separate node of an existing hierarchy.

With this scenario, if it is important that the Actuals do not use these items, a validation should be used to identify when this occurs.

Thanks Dans. This is the option we will also follow.
Thanks again
