Derive top level WBS from variable project on save

Postby bw_er » Tue Aug 21, 2007 8:14 am

has anyone any ideas on how to achieve the below?

User enters a project. (variable set up in the area and part of a varselect drop down in a web template)

when the user finishing planning against it and pushs save, another field (WBS element) is set to whichever top level WBS is connected to that project that the user selected.

does this have to be a planning function? what type? any ideas of what the code might look like?

I looked a characteristic relationships but cant figure out if thias can be used (i think no)

ideas?

thanks so much

You may use a characteristic relationship function if you define the top wbs as an attribute of the project (probably with an ABAP routine during the data load of the project).

Or you can use an exit planning function (ABAP again).

So, where do you want to put your ABAP code ?
