I have a situation like this. We have implemented SEM BCS and no COI since each consolidation unit is 100% subsidiary. One of the consolidation unit has been divested fully. Now my question is how to represent the data? One solution is to create another conosoldation unit hierarchy removing the divested unit from the struture. Is there any other solution for this. Obviously even if the company remained in the strucuture there will not be any data that will be loaded in the system.
With regards

The hierarhcy is time-dependent - set your parameters to the required period (eg p1, 2007) and 'remove from hierarchy'.
If you look at the hierarchy before the change (p12, 2006 or before) then the unit will be there, if you look at it from the change (p1, 2007 onwards) it will not be there.

In most cases the cons unit and cons group hierarchies are time-dependent. If that is the case, the preferred approach is to remove the divested cons unit in the period (parameters) subsequent to it's divestiture.

Another option is to leave it in the hierarchy. However, doing this means that any other unit in the hierarchy that may inadvertantly use the divested unit as a trading partner subsequent to the divestiture may result in an elimination posting that is not relevant. (You may also consider changing the cons group(s) where this unit is assigned to show the period of divestiture.)
